MYKOS mycorrhizae is a natural and organic species of beneficial soil fungi that create a "sponge-like" mass that collects and stores nutrients and water, increasing the uptake of both. MYKOS is a fast-growing, beneficial fungus that increases nutrient and water uptake by forming a symbiotic relationship with the roots of a plant. MYKOS is needed to break down, cycle, and retain nutrients as well as provide a front line of defence against environmental stresses, pathogens, and diseases. MYKOS will continue to grow with your plants becoming an extension of the roots and administering better efficiency and sustainability. With a larger and healthier root system, plants are given the opportunity to increase crop yields and secondary metabolites. MYKOS works fast and creates strong roots in 95% of common plants. MYKOS is a single species of Endo-mycorrhizal fungi, Rhizophagus intraradices, eliminating any type of root competition.

Why only Endo-mycorrhizae?
Ecto-mycorrhizae has no beneficial effect on vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs. MYKOS helps new plantings reduce transplant shock by stimulating new root growth. MYKOS forms hyphae that increase the root mass resulting in more absorption of nutrients and moisture. The fungal network can transport nutrients over large distances and deliver them directly into the root cell. Plants supply MYKOS with energy in the form of carbohydrates that are produced during photosynthesis. Individual plants can become connected with other plants through this mycorrhizal network,  sharing nutrients, sugars, and water as well as attracting more soil microbes.

MYKOS protects your plants against drought & heat stress. As well as keeping harmful pathogens from making root contact. MYKOS can also improve the soil structure both in clay soil and sandy soil. MYKOS also helps break down organic compounds and convert them into plant available plant food.

Specifications

Q: Why is Mykos a single species of mycorrhizae rather than a more diverse option?

A: Mykos is designed as a single-species product because testing has consistently demonstrated improved results with this approach. This is partly due to the reduced competition among microbes for the same root spaces and food sources.

Q: What are the recommended application rates for Mykos based on container size?

  • For 1-3 gallon containers: 1-2 tablespoons
  • For 5-7 gallon containers: 4-6 tablespoons
  • For 10-20 gallon containers: 1/2 cup
  • For 25-50 gallon containers: 1 cup
  • For 100 gallon containers: 2 cups

Q: Does Mykos need to be reapplied after the initial transplant application?

No, Mykos remains active for the lifespan of your plant and continues to develop unless you apply fungicides or high-phosphorus fertilizers in an inorganic (chemical or mineral salt) form. However, in short-term crop cycles (such as 12-14 week indoor grows), reapplying Mykos, especially in the form of Mykos WP, can provide significant benefits. It accelerates root colonization and spore reproduction, optimizing root growth during the vegetative and flowering stages.

Q: Is Mykos an organic product?

A: Yes, Mykos is certified organic by both OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) and the CDFA (California Department of Food and Agriculture).

Q: Is it possible to harm plants by using more Mykos than the recommended amount?

A: No, Mykos is a blend of biology and inert ingredients, and using more than the recommended amount will not harm your plants.

Q: Can I incorporate H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) into my feeding regimen when using Mykos?

No, it's not advisable to use H2O2 as it can kill the beneficial fungi and bacteria present in Mykos.

Q: How many propagules are in 1 tablespoon of Mykos?

A: In 1 tablespoon of Mykos, which weighs 12.5 grams, there are at least 3,750 propagules.
