Crustacean meal is derived from the exoskeleton/shells of crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs. These exoskeletons contain slow release nitrogen in the form of matrix complexed proteins, allowing it to provide a slow release source of amino acids. Further, it contains significant  Calcium, Phosphorous and Magnesium, providing an array of vital macro and micronutrients.  Finally, Crustacean meal is high in chitin (~1%) providing an extra boost to your plant's immune system and your harvest!  

it's important to note that our pure crustacean meal IS NOT ground up shrimp, it's specifically and only their shells.  The inclusion of the flesh on crustaceans in the meal results in an inferior product that can cause thermophilic compost and rot to occur, which can attract a variety of pests. 

How does it work?

The Exoskeleton of Crustacean meal is a protein complex (Nitrogen / Amino Acids) containing generous amounts of Calcium Phosphate (Ca)3(PO4)2  as well as Chitin (Beta branched sugar chains), which overall create a smorgasbord for your plant to thrive and achieve its best. 

the (Ca)3(PO4)2 complex is ideal for flowering plants, providing a consistent source of phosphorus to produce fat flowers, as well as the necessary calcium to shuttle it to necessary sites around the plant. 

The Nitrogen is in the form of amino acids, which are the most valuable and beneficial form of nitrogen in flower, assisting the plant to gain density and finish establishing fruit-sets. 

Finally, Chitin is a potent immunomodulator of the plants SAR (systemic acquired resistance) pathway, which boosts the plant's innate immune system. This works two-fold as it stimulates plants to increase their terpene/flavinoid production, as well as resin secretion as a means of fending off pests.
