Liquid Science pH Adjustment Solutions are highly concentrated acids and bases for keeping hydroponic nutrient tanks buffered correctly.

pH (Potential Hydrogen) is one of the critical factors when growing hydroponically as it has a bearing on the plant's uptake of all the necessary macro and microelements needed for sugar production.

pH is the term used in measuring the acidic (lower level) or alkalinity (upper level) of the nutrient solution. pH levels in your town water should be between a range of 6 to 6.5 pH. The ideal level for growing crops in hydroponics is 6.3 pH. At this level the plant has access to all 24 essential minerals needed for strong healthy growth.

The pH is read on a scale of 0 to 14. In a soil or organic environment, the pH can vary dramatically in just a square foot of space and can be difficult to bring back into balance, however in hydroponics we use inert materials as the support structure of the plant so it is quite simple to adjust the pH at any given time.

pH meters need to be calibrated every 2 weeks or more often if used regularly. Adjusting the pH can be done by using products like pH raise and pH lower, but always add a small amount to the tank each time, stirring it in until pH returns to between 6.0 and 6.5ph.

NOTE - Never!! add concentrated ph raise or lower directly to a tank as this will cause the nutrient to precipitate (go milky) it can also cause major damage to the rootzone. Always follow the directions on the label.
