The Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia's Quarantine WA service enforces strict biosecurity legislation, so we are unable to ship this product to Western Australia (WA). Nevertheless, there are quarantine requirements for seeds and plants to be treated chemically before shipments can be sent to some states, and we are simply unable to supply the necessary quarantine clearance certificates for this reason.

Impatiens balsamina - Organic - AusQual Certified - Grown at Greenpatch Organic Seeds
Balsam is a annual flower to 60cm tall, plant in semi-shade position, perfect for pots. Flowers produce a bright range of colours primarily purple and pink. Prefers good well drained moist soil. Frost tender.

How to Grow
Balsam can be sown directly into the garden (or pots) during Spring - Summer, spaced 20cm apart and covered with 5mm of soil. Gently water in new seeds and keep soil moist during germination. You can mulch around the plants once they are big enough to reduce competition from grass or weeds. Balsam is a wonderful semi-shade plant, bringing colour to more parts of the garden.

  • Balsam is relatively pest free.
  • Sow Spring - Summer
  • 70 - 80 days to flowering
  • Seed packet contains approx. 80 seeds
  • Approx 100 Seeds per gram.
