What is conductivity? Conductivity (measured in ppm, EC, TDS, CF) is the total soluble salts contained within a liquid solution. Pure water does not contain salts, so it has a conductivity measurement of zero. Q: Is Green House Feeding compatible with all types of growing mediums?

A: Green House Feeding can be applied to a variety of mediums. However, the feeding regimen may vary depending on the medium used.

Soil:

Soil or soil-based mediums are commonly chosen for cultivation due to their widespread availability, affordability, and ease of maintenance. Many novice growers opt for soil mixes, primarily because soil acts as a buffer against pH fluctuations and nutrient deficiencies. Various ready-to-use soil mixes are available from different companies, and there are numerous DIY soil mix recipes accessible online.

Most soil mixes come pre-fertilized for the initial 3-8 weeks. When using heavily pre-fertilized soil, growers must exercise caution with seedlings and young plants, as they have limited control over their feeding regimen in such cases. We recommend using lightly fertilized soil, which contains sufficient nutrients for the first 3-4 weeks of a plant's life.

Green House Feeding is perfectly suited for soil. When growing in soil, we recommend feeding the plants every other watering (water - nutrient solution - water - nutrient solution) to prevent salt buildup in the medium. Additionally, flushing the medium 2-3 times with pH-balanced water during the entire growth cycle, depending on the flowering time, is advised.

Thanks to the high-quality mineral salts used, plants can easily assimilate the nutrients, resulting in minimal salt buildup when flushing regularly. During the last 7-10 days of the flowering period, we recommend flushing the medium only with pH-balanced water.

Coco, Hydro, Aero:

Hydroponic cultivation is gaining popularity due to the perceived control it offers over the feeding regimen. Hydroponics, which translates to "water-working," involves growing plants in a water and nutrient solution without soil. Hydro setups are typically more efficient and productive compared to soil setups but require careful monitoring of pH and EC values by the grower.

In hydroponics, you provide precisely the nutrients your plants require. Various hydroponic setups exist, including Deep Water Culture (DWC), Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), Ebb and Flow, Drip Systems, and Aeroponic Systems.

Coco growing is another hydroponic method where coco fibre is used similarly to soil. However, feeding needs to be more controlled compared to soil, as coco does not act as a buffer.

Green House Feeding is suitable for coco and hydro setups and typically requires no additional nutrients besides the Powder Feeding. Only when using RO water or rainwater with an EC of 0.0, we recommend adding our Additive: Calcium to raise the calcium level to the desired value.

Generally, you can store your feeding solution in a light-proof reservoir for up to 10 days, but we recommend changing the solution weekly for optimal results.
